The Ole Miss Rebels have lost a talented young backup as redshirt freshman tight end Sammie Epps has been dismissed from the team, according to the Clarion Ledger.
The dismissal of Epps is reportedly connected to a violation of team rules. Epps had a previous run-in with law last season as he was arrested on charges of driving without a license and marijuana possession inside a motor vehicle.
Scout.com rated Epps as a four-star prospect and the 10th best tight end in the nation in 2014.

Epps is expected to transfer to the junior college ranks for this season and could possibly resurface in the next recruiting cycle if he can stay out of trouble and excel on the field.
