Report: Mercer to face UNC in 2019

(STATS) - Mercer's emerging FCS program continues to stockpile future FBS opponents - the latest being North Carolina in 2019, according to a report.

FBSchedules.com said Thursday that Mercer will face UNC at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill on Nov. 23, 2019. The Bears from the Southern Conference, who returned to football in 2013, will receive a $400,000 guarantee for the game, the report said.

Mercer, under coach Bobby Lamb, posted a 6-5 record last season, when it lost to Georgia Tech in its first FBS game. The Bears will face Alabama and Auburn this season, and have a matchup scheduled against Alabama in 2021. Also scheduled in future seasons are Memphis (2018) and Vanderbilt (2020).
