Report: Masoli not cleared by NCAA yet

Jeremiah Masoli's second-chance story hasn't been green-lighted yet.

The former Oregon quarterback, who transferred to Ole Miss this summer after being kicked off the Ducks' team for a couple of off-field incidents, is awaiting clearance from the NCAA, according to the Jackson (Miss.) Clarion-Ledger, with the Rebels' season opener just 11 days away.

Masoli is seeking a waiver to bypass the NCAA’s one-year residency requirement. By enrolling in a graduate path not offered by Oregon, Masoli is expected to earn the waiver. But Coach Houston Nutt likely will have Masoli and Nathan Stanley split the reps in practice in the days leading up to the opener against Jacksonville State.
