Published Dec. 11, 2015 2:58 p.m. ET

Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is jumping from the SEC East to the West, as the former Georgia coordinator is set to replace Kirby Smart in Tuscaloosa.

According to AL.com, Pruitt's return to Alabama is "going to happen."

Pruitt served as the Bulldogs coordinator and took charge of recruiting the last two seasons. Before coming to Athens, Pruitt served as coordinator for Florida State's national championship team in 2013 and as defensive backs coach at Alabama in 2011-2012 - both seasons the Tide won the national championship.
