Record throw helps St. Francis (Pa.) beat Sacred Heart 23-14

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) Zack Drayer threw a school-record 98-yard touchdown pass to Terell Smith and Saint Francis (Pa.) beat Sacred Heart 23-14 on Saturday.

Drayer was 13 of 20 for 291 yards passing with two touchdowns strikes to Smith. The 98-yard scoring throw topped the 92-yard touchdown pass from Jeremy Swords to Sam Campoli against Mercyhurst in 1997.

RJ Noel had 294 yards passing with two touchdowns to lead Sacred Heart (4-4, 1-2 Northeast Conference).

Drayer threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Smith early in the third quarter. Noel connected with Jackson King for a 60-yard score to give the Pioneers a 14-13 lead. Drayer's 98-yard touchdown pass put Saint Francis (4-3, 2-1) up 20-14 late in the third quarter.

Noel ran for 14 yards on a third-and-4, driving the Pioneers to the Red Flash 24, and then threw an interception to Angelo Perrucci with 4:24 remaining.
