Recent bowl projections predict USC in College Football Playoff

USC is 2-0 and looks like a force to be reckoned with, especially on offense, early in the 2015 season.

But it's never too early to look ahead, examining where each team in the FBS stacks up compared to their competition. In a recent projection by ESPN writers Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy, both experts have the USC Trojans making the College Football Playoff.

Schlabach has USC vs. Alabama in the Cotton Bowl; McMurphy picked USC to face TCU, also in the Cotton Bowl.

It's worth mentioning that both analysts project USC to lose their semifinal match, neither listing USC in the National Championship game.
