RB Vavae Malepeai commits to Oregon

4-star RB Vavae Malepeai has followed in the footsteps of his uncles and has chosen to play college football for the University of Oregon.

The 6'0", 190 pound speedster from Hawaii visited Oregon this past weekend as part of The Opening Eugene regional camp and earned running back MVP honors for his on-field performance.

During his visit to Eugene, which was considered unofficial due to the camp, Malepeai decided to commit to the Ducks.

"I've been praying on it a lot. All of the glory goes to the man above," Malepeai said about his decision, according to Andrew Nemec of The Oregonian. "None of this was possible without the people around me – my coaches, my family – and when I got here everything just felt right. I know I'll be well taken care of, not only on the field but in academics, so there's no excuse for me not to succeed in life over here."
