Purdue kicks worst on-side kick of the year against Iowa
Purdue had a...rough time against Iowa in Week 7.
The Boilermakers couldn't get anything going in the first half—a half that ended in Purdue taking a timeout in order to...take a knee and end the half.
Their fortunes didn't improve much in the second, particularly when they attempted an on-side kick in the fourth quarter that went way too far.
Purdue's J.D. Dellinger lined up for a left-footed onside kick, then switched to his right at the last moment. It was the least sneaky set-up, given the time it took. But what made matters worse is how far Dellinger kicked it—approximately 30 or so yards.
Iowa recovered the kick easily and returned it for great field position. The on-side kick was so bad, some game trackers didn't even register it as "on-side." It was just a 31-yard kickoff.
Purdue fell to Iowa 49-35.
Dan is on Twitter. Boiler up! Wait no that's too far up.
