Petersen sticking with stuggling kicker

Boise State coach Chris Petersen says he's not worried about his young kicker's struggles with field goals and extra points.

Instead, Petersen says freshman Dan Goodale will keep his job heading into the No. 5 Broncos' Mountain West Conference debut Saturday at Colorado State.

Goodale missed an extra point and had another one blocked in Friday's 57-7 blowout over Fresno State, giving him four missed extra point attempts this season.

The miscues haven't hurt the Broncos (5-0) because the offense is outscoring opponents by an average of 26 points per game.

Goodale has made both of his field goal tries this season, including a 32-yarder that glanced off an upright last week.

Petersen says Goodale has earned the job and is capable of making the adjustments to improve his accuracy.
