Penn State sends Sandusky letter asking him to renew his tickets
This must be a mistake, but it's an all-time gaffe.
Last week, according to Onward State, Penn State's athletic department sent Jerry Sandusky a letter asking him to renew his season football tickets.
The letter begins, “Dear Gerald A, Congratulations on being identified as one of the elite college football fans in the nation. You have worked diligently to separate yourself by exhibiting unrivaled tenacity, character, and loyalty. Passionate and competitive, you are the leading standard of a first class fan base.”
It also invites Sandusky on a "recruiting" visit to a basketball game and is "signed" by head coach James Franklin (it's impossible to imagine Frankin actually looked at this letter and signed it, but rather a stamp of his signature was applied).
Sandusky, of course, is serving a 30-60 year prison sentence for being convicted of 45 counts of child sexual abuse.
