Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Rise in College Football Playoff Rankings
The Penn State Nittany Lions have moved up once again in the most recent version of the College Football Playoff rankings.
Tuesday night brought the release of the newest version of the College Football Playoff rankings. With all of the upset losses that occurred during Week 11, there were sure to be some changes. Penn State, thanks to a win at Indiana and some losses by other teams, continued to move up in the rankings.
The top four teams were as follows.

After sitting at No. 10 in the CFP rankings last week, Penn State landed at No. 8 Tuesday night. There are still some teams in front of the Nittany Lions to get into the playoff, but there’s still plenty of football to be played over the next two weeks.
Following a hard-fought victory in Bloomington over Indiana last week, the Nittany Lions landed at No. 10 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and No. 9 in the latest AP Poll. With two games remaining, Penn State has a real chance to throw a huge wrinkle in the College Football Playoff by winning the Big Ten Championship.
Of course, the Nittany Lions must take care of business and beat both Rutgers and Michigan State. Also, Michigan has to lose one of its remaining games against Indiana and Ohio State.
For Penn State to be anywhere near the CFP rankings, let alone the top 10, is still a bit unbelievable. However, after being dominated by Michigan and dropping to 2-2 on the year, the Nittany Lions have reeled off six straight wins.
