Pat Narduzzi trying to raise funds for technology updates at Pitt facilities
While the rest of the Panthers enjoy a brief break until summer workouts begin, Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi remains hard at work. Up-to-date facilities are a huge recruiting tool, so Narduzzi is set to hit five cities in 24 days as part of a fundraising tour, according to Jerry DiPaola of Trib Total Media.
"We just need to redecorate and upgrade the technology that we have in that building to where you have to be to be in a Power 5 conference," Narduzzi told Trib Total Media. "We're trying to get up with the times."
It's not just about having the fanciest, most expensive equipment to look cool for recruits. Narduzzi knows that the upcoming athletes in this generation are visual learners, according to Total Trib Media, and top-of-the-line technology can be a valuable teaching tool if utilized properly.
But with features like theatre seating in the meeting rooms, telestrators in each classroom and a pool table in the players lounge, per DiPaola's report, it's also a little bit about blowing recruits away with a beautiful-looking facility.
"The beautiful factor is for those guys walking through those doors on recruiting visits who say, 'Wow. This is beautiful,'" Narduzzi told Total Trib Media.
