Oregon still has the goods on offense

Yes, Marcus Mariota is gone. However, don't expect Oregon's offense to slow down any time soon.

Last Saturday's spring game showcased the immense talent that is still left in Eugene. In fact, Oregon may have the best group of skill position players in the entire country.

The spring game's offensive onslaught was led by a player we haven't seen since the 2013 Alamo Bowl: Bralon Addision. Not only did Addison catch four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown, he also completed three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Of his performance, Addison said he thought he got better by watching from the sidelines over the past year:

“As time progressed, I was really able to get some of the confidence issues out of the way,” said Addison, according to Zac Neel of KPIC.. “I think mentally I learned a lot last year, sitting out and watching things from a different angle. I was just more excited than anything, getting back out there and being able to compete again.”

Addison wasn't the only star offensively for the Ducks. Charles Nelson, Oregon's rising sophomore sensation, grabbed five catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns. He also hauled in an interception on defense. Where he plays come September is anyone's guess right now.

We would be remised if we didn't mention the performance of Oregon QB Jeff Lockie, who looks to have grown as a passer this spring. Lockie went 9-of-9 for 223 yards and three touchdowns in the spring game. He is the clear starter as of right now, though that may change when graduate transfer Vernon Adams Jr. gets to town in mid-June.
