Oregon names Brady Hoke defensive coordinator

Brady Hoke is Oregon's new defensive coordinator, the school announced Saturday. Hoke will receive a three-year contract, a source told FOX Sports.

The 57-year-old Hoke, who has won conference Coach of the Year honors in three different leagues -- the MAC, the Mountain West and the Big Ten -- spent the 2015 season working as a radio analyst for Sirius after being let go at Michigan. Hoke replaces Don Pellum, who has moved from being the Ducks DC to linebackers coach.

According to sources, Hoke did have some other good coaching opportunities this winter before accepting the Oregon job.

The Ducks went 9-4 in 2015 and finished No. 20 in the Coaches poll despite being ranked last in the Pac-12 in total defense, allowing over 485 yards per game.
