Starting center Ben Habern could miss six to eight weeks for top-ranked Oklahoma after breaking a bone in his right arm.

Coach Bob Stoops announced Sunday that Habern had broken the radius bone in his forearm during the Sooners' 38-28 win against Missouri a night earlier.

Habern is a team captain who led Oklahoma's linemen in snaps played and knockdowns last season. He has started 17 straight games.

Stoops says offensive guard Gabe Ikard, who filled in for Habern against Missouri, is expected to start at center this Saturday night against Ball State.

Habern also missed the end of the 2009 season with an ankle injury and received a medical hardship after playing in only three games in 2008, making him a junior.
