Oklahoma starts season ranked No. 19

Coming off an 8-5 season where it was destroyed in a lower-tier bowl game and with the quarterback situation still in flux, Oklahoma was picked No. 19 in the preseason coaches poll.

OU started last season, fresh off a Sugar Bowl against Alabama, No. 3 in the nation. But in 2015 it's only the second time since 2000 OU has started the season outside the top 10. Oklahoma was not ranked at the end of 2014.

Ohio State is No. 1. TCU is No. 2 in this year's preseason poll. Baylor is No. 4. The two are the only other Big 12 schools ranked. Oklahoma State, which beat OU last season in Norman and won its bowl game, is not ranked.

Tennessee is No. 25. The Sooners will play at the Volunteers on Sept. 12.
