Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett suspended following OVI citation

Ohio State does not play this week, but the Buckeyes are still in the news as multiple reports indicate starting quarterback J.T.. Barrett was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence early Saturday morning.Ā 

Ohio State released a statement confirming Barrett had been arrested and announcing he is suspended for the next game, a Nov. 7 visit from Minnesota.Ā

Barrett is a sophomore who started 12 games for Ohio State last season as the Buckeyes won the national championship.

Cardale Jones began the season as Ohio State's starter this year, but Barrett came off the bench in six games this season before starting the Buckeyes' win over Rutgers on Oct. 24.
