North Carolina Central scores late, beats Morgan St. 21-17
BALTIMORE (AP) Naiil Ramadan hit Jalen Wilkes on a 16-yard scoring strike late in the fourth quarter as North Carolina Central came back for a 21-17 win over Morgan State on Saturday.
North Carolina Central (6-2, 5-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) took a 14-0 lead with 10:31 left in the first quarter. The Bears charged back to go up 17-14 at the break and held that lead until Wilkes pulled in the game-winning catch with 3:59 left.
Malcolm Bell, the Eagles starting quarterback who has racked up over 6,000 total yards in his career, left the game with an injury with 3:08 remaining in the second quarter and did not return. He threw for 94 yards on 7-of-11 passing and one score before the injury. Ramadan was 6-of-8 passing for 77 yards and the winning touchdown throw.
Eric Harrell rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown for Morgan State (2-4, 2-2).
