No. 12 USC hosts UCLA in annual crosstown showdown
UCLA (5-5, 3-4 Pac-12) at No. 12 Southern California (9-2, 7-1, CFP No. 11), Saturday, 8 p.m. ET (ABC)
Line: USC by 16.
Series record: USC leads 48-31-7.
WHAT'S AT STAKE?
The Victory Bell goes to the winner of Los Angeles' annual crosstown showdown. The Trojans have already clinched the Pac-12 South title, but the rivalry provides ample motivation to finish the regular season strong. The Bruins could rescue an up-and-down season with bowl eligibility and their second win at the Coliseum since 1997.
KEY MATCHUP
UCLA QB Josh Rosen vs. USC QB Sam Darnold. Two of the nation's top NFL prospects meet on the field for the first time - and probably the only time in college. Darnold redshirted in 2015, and Rosen was injured in 2016 when Darnold led USC past UCLA. The local products have built a friendship during their parallel careers, and both enter the crosstown showdown in good form. They have one chance to put on a show together.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
UCLA: LB Kenny Young. Trojans coach Clay Helton is a big fan of the Bruins' leading tackler, who will make his 40th career start in the rivalry game. He'll be a key to the Bruins' effort to stop Darnold and the talent-laden USC offense.
USC: LB Uchenna Nwosu. The senior plays his final home game as a key contributor to the Trojans' steady defense. He has 5 + sacks and 7 + tackles for loss while providing leadership and big-play capability.
