No. 1 safety Brandon Jones down to three Texas schools

BY foxsports • February 1, 2016

The nation's top safety prospect will not be leaving Texas, as Nacogdoches prospect Brandon Jones released his all-Texas finalists Monday. Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor made the cut, while Arkansas, Alabama and Auburn failed to make the final list.

Jones is ranked as the No. 1 safety and a top 40 overall prospect in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Ratings and has over 40 scholarship offers from nearly every one of the nation's elite football schools.

The non-existent rivalry on the field between the Longhorns and Aggies looks to be taking place solely on the recruiting trail for the time being, with Jones taking the spotlight as the latest in a long line of top Lone Star State prospects to pick amongst the two Texas schools.

Expect fans of the runner-up school to take to social media with their anger and one lucky school to rejoice with an aura of superiority as soon as the news is official on National Signing Day.
