NFL teams expected to strike early in 2016 draft to nab Eric Striker

The smiles have yet to fade from the faces of the 2015 NFL draft class, so obviously it's time to forecast which college football stars today will be smiling in 2016.

The Oklahoma Sooners had six players drafted last week, but none in the first round. That should change next year when Eric Striker is projected to become just the second OU player taken in the first round since three went in 2010.

Rob Rang of The Sports Xchange/CBS Sports has the Miami Dolphins drafting the All-Big 12 linebacker with the 14th overall pick.

"Few clubs would be willing to pick an off-line-of-scrimmage linebacker, but given the athleticism in Buffalo and New England, and the Dolphins' need for improved play in the back seven, the aptly-named Striker might make sense," Rang writes.

Striker finished fourth in the Big 12 in sacks last season. He made 56 tackles and recovered two fumbles. Following the incident with the racist fraternity video, the 6-foot-, 218-pound Striker emerged as a leading voice.
