Newly committed QB swayed by positive initial impression of K-State
First impressions are crucial, as K-State has just been reminded, and the Wildcats are thankful they're on the positive end of that mantra.
Three-star 2016 quarterback Skylar Thompson had a handful of Power 5 options, including a few others in the Big 12, but was left with a lasting impression from the onset of his recruitment by the KSU coaching staff.
"I felt pretty good about them from the start," Thompson told GoPowercat.com. "They were already really high before they offered because I feel like I fit the mold of their program on and off the field. They just did a really good job of recruiting me all the way through."
Thompson, who is noted for his similarities to former K-State quarterback Jake Waters, made his commitment to become a Wildcat this past Saturday.
While he won't join the Wildcats in Manhattan for another year, he's seen as a viable candidate for the starting quarterback job.
"What stands out about the newest Kansas State commit is that he doesn't have a noticeable or glaring weakness," Scout.com writes. "He may not bring an elite package in most facets of the quarterback position, but he's above average in nearly every one."
