Mississippi State landed a massive commitment on Thursday -- garnering the pledge of Texas receiver Zach Farrar.

Hailing from famed Carroll High School in Southlake, Tex., the 6'4" pass-catcher opted for MSU over Washington, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State.

Farrar is a big-bodied receiver with terrific ball skills. Not only that, but he's a physical player with surprising speed downfield. He's a perfect fit for Dan Mullen's offense -- which utilizes bigger receivers often on play-action looks -- whilst also using their blocking skills on the perimeter to help in the run game.

With De'Runnya "Bear" Wilson leaving for the NFL, MSU will need a bigger receiver to step up and fill that void. Assuming Farrar acclimates quickly to the college game, he could fit the bill in this capacity.
