Sean Higgins passed for four touchdowns to lead Morgan State to a 44-17 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory over Savannah State on Saturday.

Higgins, a freshman making his second start, completed 14 of 24 for 239 yards, including a 34-yard touchdown to Andre Nelson on the opening possession of the second half that put the Bears (3-3, 2-1) ahead 24-10.

After Morgan State forced a punt by the Tigers (1-5, 1-2), former starter Robert Council came in at quarterback for the Bears on the next series and found Lamont Bryant for a 52-yard score on a third-and-18 play that made it 31-10.

Higgins also threw a 59-yard scoring pass to Nelson in the first quarter and hit Chuka Okakpu for scores of 4 yards in the second quarter and 12 yards in the fourth.

The Bears sacked two Savannah State quarterbacks a total of four times and picked off three passes.
