Missouri State rally tops Youngstown State 38-34

Quarterback Trevor Wooden rallied Missouri State (2-9, 2-6) from a 27-10 halftime deficit to stun Youngstown State 38-34 Saturday in Missouri Valley Conference play.

Wooden rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns and passed for two more. Both went to Cadarrius Dotson, the second a 2-yard game-winner with 10 seconds to play. Wooden was 17 of 29 passing for 188 yards.

Youngstown State's Kurt Hess threw for 298 yards and a school-record five touchdowns, four in the first half when the Penguins (6-5, 4-4) appeared in control. Hess hit Will Shaw for touchdowns of 10 and 52 yards in the first quarter.

But Wooden scored on runs of 45 and 3 yards in the third quarter and Chris Douglas scored on a 1-yarder in the fourth. Wooden was 4 for 5 passing on the final drive, hitting Robert Fields for 30 yards to set up the game-winning touchdown to Dotson.
