Missouri State quarterback Trevor Wooden has been suspended for one game for violating team rules and will miss the opener at Arkansas on Sept. 3.

Coach Terry Allen said Wednesday that Wooden made a poor decision. Wooden will continue to practice with the team and Allen said he could earn his job back for the second game of the season at Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 10.

Wooden said in the school's release that he let the team down.

Mitchell Jenkins, a redshirt freshman, and Kierra Harris, a freshman, will compete for the start against Arkansas.
