Chris Douglas caught a touchdown pass and later ran in for the go-ahead score to help Missouri State take a 31-28 win over Western Illinois on Saturday.

Douglas' 71-yard touchdown run came early in the fourth quarter to put the Bears (3-4, 2-2 Missouri Valley) up 28-21 with about 11 minutes to play. He finished with 165 yards rushing.

Austin Witmer kicked a field goal later in the quarter to widen Missouri State's lead to 31-21.

The Leathernecks (5-3, 3-2) scored on the next drive when Matt Barr hit Lito Senatus with a 38-yard pass with about three and a half minutes left. But the Bears held on after that.

Barr led the game in passing with 402 yards. He also ran for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

MSU's Cody Kirby threw for 157 yards and a touchdown as well as ran in for a score of his own in the first half.
