Might John Kolar be the next dual-threat backup Cowboy quarterback?
J.W. Walsh is going to be a tough quarterback to replace. He accounted for 26 total touchdowns in 2015, and while the hope is that Mason Rudolph can develop into a full-time stud at the QB spot, it would be nice for someone to be able to replace Walsh's skill set.
Might that guy be redshirt freshman John Kolar?
“He’s going to play more like the J.W. style,” coach Mike Gundy said Thursday.
Kolar ran a 4.55 40-yd dash coming out of high school, and with a lean build, he resembles Walsh.
“I do consider myself a dual threat, but I prefer to pass it as my first option,” Kolar told The Oklahoman in July 2014. “(OSU) likes that I can throw and run, though. They like that athleticism at quarterback. They liked that I was a winner. We (at Norman North) also run sort of the same type of offense they do, so that helps.”
