Michigan State head football coach Mark Dantonio has agreed to a new five-year contract.

The East Lansing school said Saturday that Dantonio's annual compensation will increase from $1.8 million to $1.83 million.

The contract includes a base salary of $650,000, up from $618,000, along with several incentives, including a $100,000 bonus for winning the Big Ten Championship game.

The deal also allows Dantonio to work for Michigan State's Athletics Department for two years after he retires from coaching.

Dantonio is in his fifth year as Michigan State's head coach. He led the Spartans to a school-record 11 wins last season and a share of the Big Ten Championship. The school has won 15 of its last 18 games.

The Spartans (4-1, 1-0 Big Ten) beat Ohio State 10-7 last week.
