Michigan reportedly heading to Virginia for 2016 camp

BY foxsports • June 11, 2015

This year's summer camp season has not wrapped up yet, but already plans are apparently being made for the summer of 2016.

Coach Bobby Wilder of Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va., told The Virginian-Pilot he contacted Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh about hosting Wolverines staffers this year but they were unable to find a date that worked.

“I’ve always been a fan of (Harbaugh) from a coaching perspective,” Wilder told the paper. “I saw what he was doing with his camps and where he was going, so I reached out to him."

From the sounds of things, ODU would like to become a hub for Big Ten teams interested in making recruiting inroads in Virginia.

Penn State will hold a camp there later this month, and the coach said Maryland has already been contacted about doing one. There are also plans to call Michigan State and Ohio State about future opportunities.
