MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Michigan quarterback Jake Rudock left in the third quarter against Minnesota after getting his helmet knocked off on a big hit from defensive lineman Andrew Stelter.
Rudock took off on a scramble and was spun around by an initial hit from linebacker Julian Huff. Stelter came in high from the other side, crunching Rudock's neck as his helmet flew off. Rudock remained on the ground for several minutes as Michigan medical personnel rushed to his side. But he was able to walk off to the locker room under his own power.
There was no immediate word on the nature of Rudock's injury.
Sophomore Wilton Speight replaced Rudock in the 15th-ranked Wolverines' offense.
Rudock was 13 for 21 for 140 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
