Michigan receiver Darryl Stonum has been suspended indefinitely.

Wolverines coach Brady Hoke said in a statement Saturday that Stonum made a poor decision, calling it a serious situation. Hoke didn't say what Stonum did to get suspended or how he would be disciplined.

Hoke says if Stonum fulfills his commitments legally and to the football program, a determination will be made about his possible return. He started 12 games as a junior last season for coach Rich Rodriguez and ranked second on the team in receptions and yards receiving.

When Stonum was a freshman, he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Stonum called it ''a dark moment in his life'' when he was in jail last summer for failing to comply with his probation.
