Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh on what he's learned from using Twitter
What does Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh get out of using Twitter?
Well, there is the chance to connect with potential recruits, of course, and the ability to share with the rest of the world what he might be doing or thinking at any particular time.
Oh, and there is also a reminder of the power of proofreading.
“I’ve got to make sure the spelling is right because if you misspell one thing or don’t put a comma or period in the right place then people make quite a bit of sport of you,” Harbaugh told reporters at Big Ten Media Days via The Michigan Insider. “(Twitter) has been good for my spelling, it has improved my grammar. You want to get it right.”
Getting back to the tool's more practical use for a football coach, Harbaugh explained he is able to glean information about players he might -- or might not -- want to see wearing the Maize and Blue some day.
“Youngsters that post things, you can kind of get to peek behind the curtains to see what they’re like. Many times people have posted videos and you get to watch them play football. You can direct message so it’s a way to connect.”
