Miami (Ohio) DB coach to take over

Miami (Ohio) defensive backs coach Lance Guidry will serve as interim head coach for the RedHawks at the GoDaddy.com Bowl on Jan. 6 against Middle Tennessee.

Mike Haywood, who coached the RedHawks to a Mid-American Conference championship this season, was hired away by Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Miami athletic director Brad Bates announced on Thursday that Guidry would fill in.
