LSU ready for monster recruiting weekend
During Les Miles' tenure in Baton Rouge, he's virtually turned LSU into a football factory in terms of sending players to the NFL.
While the developing of the athletes is a major aspect of this premise, the Tigers have been able to sign very good talent from the high school ranks.
The Times-Picayune has compiled a comprehensive list of all the recruits slated to be in attendance for the massive clash versus Florida on Saturday night.
Of the expected five official visitors, the headliners include tackle Greg Little and defensive lineman Shavar Manuel.
Rivals.com ranks Little as the No. 1 offensive lineman in the entire country, and the No. 4 player overall nationally. His ability to lock in on defensive linemen with his long arms is special. Possessing massive size and above-average quickness, he appears to be an early contributor once on the collegiate level.
Manuel is also regarded as a 5-star prospect by Rivals.com. The Florida prospect is versatile enough to play all across the defensive line. LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron would love to mold him into the next great Tigers' defensive player. A litany of 2016, 2017, and 2018 prospects will also be present at the contest.
With a game of this magnitude, the atmosphere will literally sell itself when it comes to recruiting. Coupled with the fact LSU has sent many players to the NFL, and it's no surprise as to why top-talent flocks to Baton Rouge.
