LSU coach Les Miles goes to hospital, returns for practice
BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU coach Les Miles returned to the team's football facilities following a trip to the hospital Monday morning after not feeling well.
"Coach Miles was a little bit under the weather this morning in his office," athletic director Joe Alleva said. "He went down to see the trainers, and they told him it would be best for him to go to the hospital. They wanted him checked out on a precautionary basis."
The 61-year-old Miles did not show up for his media luncheon Monday afternoon and about 30 minutes after the scheduled start, Alleva announced Miles' hospital visit.
Miles returned to LSU's football operations building early Monday afternoon, went to practice and met with the media following the workout.
The coach said he suspects he drank too much coffee earlier Monday after not having any for about six months.
Last Friday, LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron announced that he had undergone treatment for prostate cancer over the previous several weeks. Cameron received a clean bill of health and will be on the sidelines this season.
The 14th-ranked Tigers open the season Saturday against McNeese State. Miles will be beginning is 11th season as LSU's coach.
