Lovett's 3 TDs lifts Princeton over Georgetown 31-17

WASHINGTON (AP) John Lovett rushed for three touchdowns and Princeton beat Georgetown 31-17 on Saturday.

Lovett had 60 yards on 13 carries, and completed 6 of 10 passes for 13 yards and a touchdown. Charlie Volker added 88 yards on 23 carries.

Georgetown got on the board first, as Jelani Williamson returned a blocked field goal 51 yards for a touchdown and 7-0 lead. The Tigers responded with a seven-play, 69-yard drive culminating with Lovett's 1-yard touchdown plunge.

The teams then traded turnovers in the Georgetown end of the field, and Princeton (3-1) took advantage of the short field with a 22-yard touchdown drive, ending with Lovett's 5-yard score. On the Tigers' next possession, Lovett tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Graham Adomitis. Lovett added a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Alex Valles led Georgetown (3-2) with 87 yards with a touchdown on 13 carries.
