Louisville vs Charlotte live stream: Watch Cardinals vs 49ers online
Louisville looks to live up to their No. 19 preseason ranking, while Charlotte looks to snap a long losing streak.
The Louisville Cardinals begin the season ranked No. 19 in the preseason AP Top 25. Quarterback Lamar Jackson looks to build on his freshman season when he had 1,840 passing yards and 960 rushing yards. He ended the year in the Music City Bowl with 227 yards passing and rushed for 226.
Louisville’s defensive line is also a force to be reckoned with and their front seven should give the 49ers troubles. One player to watch out for is linebacker Devonte Fields, the former TCU product who greatly benefitted from a fresh start at Louisville. He had 10.5 sacks in 2015, ranking him fourth in the ACC.
The Charlotte 49ers are looking to start the season off right and snap a 10-game losing streak. that has not won a game since Week 2 against Presbyterian when they rolled to a 34-10 victory. Now entering their second campaign as a member of Conference USA, head coach Brad Lambert looks to return to his winning ways.
Leading the charge at the quarterback position for the 49ers is redshirt junior Kevin Olsen. He redshirted at Miami before going the JUCO route. He will look to spark an offense that ranked No. 110 in the country with 174.1 passing yards per contest and scored 17.5 points per game. Helping him in the resurrection effort will be senior running back Kalif Phillips who ran for 961 yards and five touchdowns. The duo will be given the task of solving a punishing Louisville defense.
Here is the all the information you need for the Charlotte-Louisville game.
Louisville should have no problem handling Charlotte on both sides of the football. Offensively, expect another big game from Jackson and I would not be surprised to see at least three touchdowns from Jackson by the half and at least 250 yards and four touchdowns from him in total.
From a Charlotte perspective, Olsen will have trouble against the Louisville front seven and Fields should be involved often and early. The 49ers will be tested, but should have a lot to build on from this game.
