Mike Brown threw two touchdown passes to Chris Summers and Liberty defeated Gardner-Webb 40-14 in a Big South game Saturday.

Brown, who passed for 220 yards, also ran for a 2-yard touchdown, while Matt Bevins added four field goals. The Flames (7-2, 4-0) won their 11th conference game in a row, overcoming three lost fumbles and one interception.

Liberty started the scoring immediately, as Danny Broggin returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. The Bulldogs (3-6, 1-3) tied it with 7:18 left in the quarter, when Chandler Browning threw a 33-yard scoring pass to Jamal Patmon.

Bevins' first field goal, a 23-yarder, gave Liberty the lead for good at 10-7. He also connected from 39, 28 and again from 23 yards.

Brown and Summers connected on touchdown passes of 26 yards in the second quarter and 56 yards in the fourth, capping the scoring.
