Jonathan Jones gave Notre Dame some good news Wednesday morning when he chose the Fighting Irish over Michigan.Ā

Jones is a three-star prospect from Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge who made his decision with something more than football in mind, per 247Sports:Ā

ā€œLife after football," said Jones of Notre Dame. "They can really set you up to be a future leader in the world, I believe. It’s all about life after football. They all have great football. They all have good academics. They all have good coaches. I think Notre Dame is the best program for an alumni base and life after football.ā€

He is rated the No. 17 inside linebacker in the country by Scout.com and the fourth best in his home state.Ā

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly and others offered a preview of what they expect to be getting in the Floridian.Ā
