Andre Bevil threw three touchdowns in Lamar's 34-26 win over Nicholls State on Saturday, snapping a two-game losing streak.
Bevil, who finished with 186 yards, completed 14 of 23 passes and threw touchdowns from 8, 14 and 32 yards. His first score gave Lamar (4-6, 2-4 Southland Conference) a 14-10 lead going into halftime. Nicholls State drew within two points of the lead but Bevil threw his second and third touchdowns in the fourth quarter to give the Cardinals a 34-19 lead.
LaQuintin Caston connected with Demon Bolt with five seconds remaining in the game to create the final margin.
Caston led Nicholls State (1-9, 0-6), throwing for 214 yards and two touchdowns on 21 of 40 passing and running for 177 yards on 22 carries. However, Caston threw two interceptions and his turnover in the fourth quarter ended Lamar's come back attempt.
