Kiffin jokes about USC firing: 'I was a good 20 yards off the tarmac'
It’s been a little more than two years since Lane Kiffin was fired from USC. The Trojans’ coach was let go in September 2013, a couple of games into his fourth season leading the program.
The firing took place at an airport during a meeting with athletic director Pat Haden.
Enough time has since passed that Kiffin is apparently now able to joke about it.
The Alabama offensive coordinator on Saturday made a couple of humorous quips about the firing during media day for the College Football Playoff title game.
Happier times could be on the way for Kiffin.
Alabama and Clemson are set to kick off at 8:30 p.m. ET Monday on ESPN.
