Kid to Oregon coach: Jesus, girls, Mariota all that matters in life

BY foxsports • November 22, 2014

Charlie Papé is a reporter who's not afraid to ask the tough questions.

He's also a 12-year-old.

After No. 2 Oregon took down Colorado to earn its 10th win of the season, Papé got the attention of Ducks head coach Mark Helfrich at his press conference and asked the question that's "like the talk around school."

"Do you know anything about Marcus Mariota, if he's staying or leaving?" Papé asked.

When Helfrich tried to dodge the question by asking Papé what the kids at his school in Eugene think, Papé broke it down for the second-year Ducks coach.

"Well, there's three things that go on at O'Hara Catholic .... There's Jesus, there's girls, and there's Marcus Mariota."

Safe to say, this kid wins Week 13.

Mariota threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 73 yards and another in Oregon's 44-10 victory over Colorado. That gave the Heisman hopeful 42 total touchdowns this season to set a new Pac-12 record.

Mariota has a year of eligibility left, but most believe that he'll go to the NFL after this season.
