Anthony Meray ran for two touchdowns and Kent State defeated South Alabama 33-25 win over South Alabama on Saturday.

Meray, who had 64 yards on 12 carries, scored from 3 yards out in the first quarter and then again on a 28-yard run that gave Kent State a 26-0 lead going into halftime. The Golden Flashes weren't done yet, forcing South Alabama to fumble on their first possession of the second half and scoring two plays later on a 10-yard pass from Spencer Keith. The score gave Kent State a commanding 33-0 third quarter lead.

South Alabama fought back behind Demetre Baker's two rushing touchdowns but Kent State picked off quarterback C.J. Bennett three times in the second half to halt the Jaguar offense.

Kent State's 260-pound freshman running back Trayion Durham ran 27 times for 72 yards, helping the Golden Flash hold possession for 35 minutes of the game.
