A Texas Christian University football player has been charged in connection with a massive drug string conducted on the Fort Worth campus last month.

Devin Johnson, 21, was charged with three cases of delivery of marijuana between one-quarter ounce and five pounds, several news services reported Monday.

The senior cornerback, who was one of four Horned Frogs players arrested during the Feb. 15 raid, faces 180 days to two years in a jail and up to a $10,000 fine for each case filed against him.

Police arrested 23 people, including 16 current TCU students, in the drug bust. Johnson is the ninth person charged in the investigation.

The other three football players arrested — linebacker Tanner Brock, defensive tackle D.J. Yendrey and offensive tackle Tyler Horn — have not been charged. All four players were dismissed from the team by coach Gary Patterson.

Patterson ordered surprise drug tests on Feb. 1 after reportedly hearing from a high-level recruit that he would not attend TCU because of drug use on the team.

According to his arrest affidavit, Johnson told police 82 people failed the team-wide test.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported last month that five players tested positive for marijuana, while another 11 tested positive for a trace amount within the test's margin of error. Tests on 86 other players came back negative.

Fort Worth police said 2.7 pounds of marijuana and $46,000 in cash were seized by undercover officers during the raid, which followed four months of investigation into alleged dealing.

Police estimated the entire recovered drug stash, which included more than six grams of cocaine and other illegal substances and 37 grams of prescription pills, had a street value of $29,000.
