Jimbo Fisher Has Clearly Lost His Mind, and Possibly His Job

In a desperate attempt to deflect questions about his drowning Florida State Seminoles, Jimbo Fisher decided to take an uncalled for shot at Auburn.

In a recent interview Jimbo Fisher decided to talk about the 2013 Iron Bowl, a game that he wasn’t even involved in, for some unknown reason.

He then made the comment that the play that tied the game before the Kick Six was an illegal play, which set Auburn fans in a frenzy.

First of all, it’s been analyzed over-and-over again by plenty of Alabama fans, and even they have to admit that the play was legal. The offensive linemen were not more than three yards downfield, and Nick Marshall did not cross the line of scrimmage.

But for some reason Jimbo Fisher decided to say that the play was illegal and Auburn shouldn’t have even been in the National Championship game.

Let’s move on from that idiotic point as we know it was a legal play, but then he went on to say that it cost Alabama a National Championship.

In saying that he admits that Alabama would have beaten his Florida State team in the National Championship game.

While I do agree with Fisher, Alabama probably would have beaten them, what kind of coach admits that his team would have lost a game they won? What kind of benefit is that to his team and Florida State fans?

The only reasoning for this completely unexpected outburst is that Jimbo Fisher has either lost his mind, or he wants out of Tallahassee.

I tend to think that both of those ideas are true.

The Seminoles just lost their second game of the year and are likely out of the ACC picture as well as the National Championship race. This on a year when many thought the Seminoles would win the ACC and be in the playoffs.

Florida State still has Miami, Clemson, NC State and Florida on the schedule. Even if they just lose two of those games this will be somewhat of a disastrous season for Jimbo Fisher.

While I don’t think there are many calling for Jimbo Fisher to be fired, the heat will definitely pick up if they lose four games with the talent they have.

You have to wonder if Jimbo Fisher is thinking about getting out of town before the pitchforks are brought out. There are certainly some high profile jobs – LSU specifically – that could be coming up this offseason.

If for any reason Jimbo Fisher is tired of Tallahassee and wants out, making stupid comments like this – and losing ball games – will certainly get him out of town quicker.
