Virginia Tech's streak of draft selections, spanning more than two decades, was in danger heading into this weekend. Five full rounds passed before an NFL team finally dipped into Tech's talent pool, as the Washington Redskins finally broke the seal and picked defensive back Kyshoen Jarrett in the sixth.

A round later, the Dallas Cowboys picked offensive lineman Lawrence Gibson. Although he was a seventh-round selection, Gibson could have a chance to find the field as a rookie.

"He’s a big tackle – long, athletic tackle," Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told John Machota of The Dallas Morning News. "Late in the draft, one of our philosophies is to try to take guys who have some upside, have some physical potential and who play the game the right way."

The flow of Hokies to the NFL, which dates back to 1994, may have slowed to a trickle in 2015. But, at the end of the day, the 14th-longest streak in the FBS is still alive.
