Brock Lough rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns, leading Indiana State over Butler 48-34 Saturday in Indiana State's home opener and the teams' first meeting since 1974.

Lough had a 3-yard scoring run in the second quarter, then got in from 45 yards in the third quarter as Indiana State blew open a close game. He added another 3-yard score in the fourth.

Ronnie Fouch was 15 of 18 for 232 yards passing, including a 26-yard touchdown pass to Donald Spencer, for the Sycamores (1-1). Leonard Riston returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown, and Ben Obaseki added two 2-yard touchdown runs.

The Bulldogs (1-1) got 289 yards passing and three scores from Andrew Huck. Running back Brandon Grubbe hit Jeff Larsen for another touchdown for Butler's first score.

The two teams were rivals in the old Indiana Collegiate Conference, facing off every season from 1949 to 1974.
