How to Watch Big Ten Championship: Penn State Nittany Lions vs Wisconsin Badgers
Big Ten West division winner Wisconsin will take on the East division winner Penn State.
Just like we all predicted at the beginning of the season the Penn State Nittany Lions will face the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten championship game Saturday night in Indianapolis. No seriously, if these are the two teams you had in this game then liar, liar, pants on fire.
How Wisconsin Got Here: The Badgers were faced with the toughest Big Ten schedule among the 14 teams and it didn’t get off to the best of starts. After beating Michigan State on the road, Wisconsin would drop their next two to Michigan and Ohio State. But a win over Iowa on the road and in overtime against Nebraska put the Badgers in the driver seat for the West division crown as Bucky would go on to win their next six games en route to their fourth title game appearance.
How Penn State Got Here: The Nittany Lions’ road to the championship game was slightly easier. After losing their Big Ten opener on the road to Michigan, Penn State would go on to win eight games in a row, including a win over No. 2 Ohio State. The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions would end up in a tie for the East title, but because that home victory Penn State is the division representative in their first-ever Big Ten championship game.
Wisconsin’s defense has been dominant all season, but it will be interesting to see if T.J. Watt and company will be able to slow down quarterback Trace McSorley, running back Saquon Barkley and Penn State’s explosive offense.
