How close have the recent USC-Stanford matches been?
USC vs. Stanford has become one of the most electrifying rivalries in college football, producing an exciting outcome nearly every season.
According to a recent tweet by the USC athletic department, the average margin of victory over the last five years is just 4.6 points per game. USC is 61-29-3 against Stanford historically, but has lost three of the last five. USC does boast a two-game win streak, however, which they look to defend this weekend.
In the last five games, according to Jon Wilner from Northern California's Mercury News, the combined margin of victory in the last five showdowns is just 23 points -- including one game with 3OT's.
